it's been a while

It's been a while. I've been busy with my work stuff etc so did not have time for vectoring.
Well, i am back and is trying to get this vector done :)

Istock Acceptance Streak Ends!!!!

I am sad to announce that my istock acceptance streak has comes to an end. I did not do anything differently.
I guess the approver changed :) Must be my lucky break to get all those simple vectors accepted before. Well, i will keep on working harder to find out what istock wants :) Just another challenges in my way to success :)

Road Signs !!!

Recently i've been working on road sign icons. I got at least 3 sets done. It even got accepted in IStock :p
I hear from a forummer in shutterstock that his signs sales is pretty consistent . So i would try to do this as it is slightly easier than icons :)
My aim now is to increase my portfolio. I guess i won't be making much money until i got the volume :)

My road sign set 1 got accepted into istock :) again, i put a black background over it :)

reason is my past experience of getting rejected if it is isolated on white. I don't know why but no harm putting a black background. It does looks nicer :p

1st payment on shutterstock

I recently hit my first milestone, earning 75USD on shutterstock. It has been almost half a year since i got accepted. I guess this is kinda slow compared to many others but it is a good start :)
Have to do more icons and signs to increase my sales.
recently i've been busy with some personal stuff so did not have time to upload new vectors etc.
Hope i can get back the momentum soon :)

Web Button accepted in IStock

Hi, i have a web button that got rejected in IStock last week.
All i did was put a black background over it and resubmit it. It got accepted!!! See above :) white background rejected, black background accepted.
samething happened for my web icons

stickers accepted in istock

my last 2 vectors on square and round shiny stickers got accepted into Istock. I am baffled!!!!
why my buttons are not accepted but the stickers were rejected?
Could it be that the 2 stickers have a black background???
Let me try to put the buttons on black background and resubmit :p

This is the hardest microstock site for me to gain entry. Even after gaining entry, the acceptance rate for my vectors are still very low.

So far, only my drawings of cute cartoon character in various uniforms and a dragon got accepted. I only sold 1 vector, the dragon :(
my icons , animals, backgrounds always get rejected.

I'll tell you guys more when i figure out what works for istock

Background and Web Buttons

I finished 4 background and 1 web button over the weekend. Spent the whole evening today keywording and uploading my vectors. What a tiring task.

She has 13 vectors in the shutterstock top 50. Very very impressive feat :)

Hello World

Hi Everyone,
I created this blog to document my journey as a new vector illustrator. I am using Adobe Illustrator CS4 to create my vectors.
I sell them online at microstock sites Shutterstock, Istock, Dreamstime, RF123, Bigstockphoto, Stockxpert, Crestock and Canstockphoto.
I taught myself how to draw vectors with the help of many online tutorials. I will post the link to those websites when i have the time :)
